Matthew 17: 22-23 & Colossians 3: 1-4  "The Reminder"

These passages explain to us that we should be setting our sites on heaven and thinking about the things of heaven.  As Christians we are dead to this life, we have been raised from the dead with Christ, Jesus paid our debt with His death and sinless life.

Matthew 17: 14-20  "Strength for Service"

Pastor Anthony asks us today if we have strength to serve.   In these passages from Matthew, we learn that the disciples were unable to heal a possessed boy.  Jesus points out that their faith was not strong enough to cast the devil out of him. 

We need to seek God with all our hearts and do what He tells us to do.  Listen to this sermon to learn to trust God and help others - once we do, there will be no limit to what we can do in Christ.

    Do you have serving faith?  Do you ask yourself "What can I do to serve the Lord?"

  • September 19, 2021 - Service & Sermon - Matthew 16: 13-20 "Levels of Faith - Part 2" - ​In today's bible verses, Jesus asks Simon Peter "But who do you think I am?"  Simon Peter answered, "You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God".
    Pastor Anthony speaks about saving our faith in today's world, that the world's opinion of Jesus doesn't change the truth.  This world has never been unanimous on it's opinion of Jesus.  Most of the world believes He was a great man but not necessarily the Son of God.  This sermon helps us to understand how our faith is used to build the church.

  • September 5, 2021 - Service & SermonLuke 22: 39-46  “The Prayer of Christ”​ - Youth Pastor Will Hall delivers today’s sermon about prayer.  In these passages, Jesus prays to His Father on the Mount of Olives while He is under a great deal of stress knowing what He was about to endure.  Will points out that these passages teach us when to pray, how to pray and why we need to pray.  God’s will is for us to be like Christ and pray for what we need.  He will give us the strength we need to get through a trial.

  • August 28, 2021 - Service & SermonProverbs 17: 28  "The Tongue Of The Christian" - Youth Pastor Will Hall delivered a sermon today that should be taken to heart by so many people in today's world.  There are numerous references in the bible, both old and new testaments, about controlling our tongues.  In Proverbs 17:28 God wants us to control our tongues.  James 1:26 states that any who worship God but cannot control their tongues, then they worship in vain.  Pastor Will continues to show us additional bible passages that teach us how powerful the tongue can be.

  • August 15, 2021 Service & Sermon - Matthew 16: 1-12 "Levels of Faith Part 1"​-In today’s bible verses we begin to see a turning point in Jesus’ ministry. He is beginning to prepare His followers for the events to come - His dying on the cross and leaving them. Pastor Anthony helps us to understand that these passages describe two levels of faith: none at all and little faith. Listen to understand the differences between them.

  • 6/20/2021 - Service & Sermon - Matthew 14: 1-14 -"A Godly Man vs. An Ungodly Man "Happy Father's Day!  In today's sermon, Pastor Anthony speaks about these passages in Matthew being a "portrait in difference".  From having a guilty conscience to feeling doom, regret and shame, Herod felt a multitude of emotions when sentencing John the Baptist to be beheaded, all of these emotions belonging to a godless man.   • 6/13/2021 - Service & SermonToday our guest speaker is Will Hall, he graduated from Pensacola Christian College in 2020.  He opens his message with a passage from Romans 5:1, Therefore, since we have been made right in God's sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.   Will goes into detail about how we need to make peace with God because God is faithful and just.  Listen to this sermon as Will explains how we should live in peace with God and each other.

  • 6/6/2021 - Service & SermonYouth Sunday Sermons - Today' sermon was delivered by two of our teens, Blake Clore and Luke Phillips.  Both spoke about a word they chose from a list earlier in the year that they would try to follow.  Blake's word that he chose is "Lead", his sermon title is "Four ways to lead like Jesus".  The word Luke chose is "Go".
    Listen to both of these young men explain what these words mean to them and how they act upon these words in their lives.

  • 5/30/2021 - Service & Sermon - Matthew 13: 53-57 "Why Jesus is Rejected" - Do you reject Jesus because of a lack of understanding?
    Are you offended by His authority?  Do you refuse to believe?

  • 5/23/2021 - Service & Sermon - Matthew 13: 47-52 "The Net" -"The Parable of the Fishing Net" - In today's message, Jesus compares the kingdom of Heaven to a fisherman using a  net to catch all kinds of fish and how only the good fish will be gathered and kept, the bad fish will be thrown back.  Listen to Pastor Anthony explain how we can become one of God's "keepers".

    The Parables of the Hidden Treasure and the Pearl
    Have you committed your whole life to Jesus?  One interpretation of these parables is that man is Jesus Christ, the treasure is His believers and the field is the world.  Pastor Anthony goes into more detail about of all that is packed inside these few passages.

    The Parable of the Yeast
    -Have you allowed the yeast of Jesus Christ to enter into your life?
    -Have you become active in putting the yeast of the gospel into other’s lives?  Pastor Anthony explores the true meaning of this parable and helps us understand that the yeast symbolizes the kingdom of God.  Just like the way yeast permeates and grows the flour in bread, we are to spread the news of the gospel with others.

  • 5/2/2021 - Service & Sermon - "Testimonies of Faith" - Charlotte Layne, a long time member of Fork Union Baptist Church, is our first guest speaker today, she explains how she lost religion and found faith. Scott Thacker our second guest, speaks about his salvation experience.  For many years he was willing to serve as long as he wasn't challenged too much and was comfortable in what he was doing.  He reveals what is needed to take that "next step" in becoming a Christ follower.

  • 4/25/2021 - Service & SermonMatthew 13: 31-32 - "The Growth and Greatness of Christianity" - Have you chosen to take refuge in Christ?  Listen to Pastor Anthony's sermon on the Parable of the Mustard Seed.  In these passages, Jesus shows us how Christianity can grow from something as small as a tiny mustard seed into a tree in which birds can come and rest and make nests in it's branches.

  • 4/18/2021 - Service & Sermon - Matthew 13: 24-30 - "Focused or Distracted?" - In these passages, Jesus tells the Parable of the Weeds, Jesus is describing the kingdom of God.  He is sowing gospel seeds throughout the world and raising up Christians. But at the same time, the enemy is in the world spreading counterfeit seed. In its immature state, it isn't always simple to discern the differences between those who belong to the kingdom and those who do not.  We must remember to not let the weeds distract us from what God has for us in the field.

  • 4/4/2021 Service & Sermon - John 20: 1-18  "Seeing Jesus" - Happy Resurrection Day!!!  Jesus is alive and seated on the throne!!  Pastor Anthony's sermon looks at the resurrection through the eyes of Mary Magdalene.
