Matthew 26: 1-5 “Explaining and Plotting”

 

In these five passages, Jesus explains His death to His disciples and we also learn that the priests and the elders were plotting His death.  Listen to learn what Pastor Anthony teaches about the significance of Jesus’ death and how it is tied to the Passover celebration.

We should always remember that Jesus wants a personal relationship with us and that God has prepared a place for us where there is plenty of room.  He wants to give us the gift of joy.

Matthew 25: 31-46 “The Parables of His Return” Part 3

 

The third parable in this series teaches us about how we will be judged when Jesus returns.  There are a few things we know about His return – He is coming in Glory, He will come with His Holy Angels, He is coming to be enthroned, He will gather all nations and He will separate the nations to be judged.

When Jesus returns it will be too late for us to seek redemption– listen to Pastor Anthony to understand what is required of us to inherit the kingdom of God.

  • November 27, 2022 Service & Sermon - Matthew 25: 14-30 “The Parables of His Return” Part 2 -  Jesus is waiting for the people of His church to do what they can, based upon the ability of each, to prepare for His return.  This parable points out the contribution each servant made with what their master gave them.
    Pastor Anthony asks each of us - "Which servant are you?”  Will God say "Well done” to you?

  • November 20, 2022 - Service & Sermon - Matthew 25: 1-13 - “The Parables of His Return Part 1” - Parable of The Ten Bridesmaids – This parable is the story of five foolish and five wise bridesmaids.  Pastor Anthony helps us to understand that WE are responsible for our own spiritual lives and that we are foolish to depend only on ourselves to enter heaven without the power of the Holy Spirit living within us.  He asks us if we have prepared properly for the return of Jesus and encourages us to put all our hope and trust in Jesus Christ.

  • October 30, 2022 - Service & Sermon - Matthew 24: 32-41 “The Time Of The Lord’s Return” - ​We learn today that God looks at things from an eternal perspective and His words stay forever.  Jesus tells us that we should expect His return but only the Father knows that date.  It is up to us to decide if we will be taken or left behind on the day Christ returns to this earth.  We should be doing the work of the ministry and live a holy life while remembering the basis of separation and judgement is believing and trusting in Christ.

  • October 23, 2022 - Service & Sermon - Matthew 24:29-31 “Now or Later” - ​Do you believe that Jesus will be coming back?  Are you ready?Pastor Anthony asks us these questions today and explains that even though we don’t know when Jesus will return, we know how He will come based upon Matthew’s passages.  Listen to this sermon to learn what Jesus revealed about His final coming and that we need to get right with God before it’s too late.

  • October 16, 2022 - Service & Sermon - Acts 16: 25-34  "The Simplicity of Salvation" - ​“Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved” Acts 16:31. Pastor Will explains that God wants us to have clarity about our salvation which is the message of today’s sermon.  All who believe in the Lord Jesus will attain their salvation.

  • October 9, 2022 - Service & Sermon - Matthew 24:15-28 “The Most Terrible Sign”-  Jesus continues to speak of the end of the age.  He details the destruction, devastation and hardship that will be for all people as this final stage is enacted.  Pastor Anthony digs into these passages and warns that even believers will suffer, but those who remain to the end will be saved.  Listen to this sermon to have some understanding of the warning signs, what Jesus tells us will happen and how we must react.  Just remember, true deliverance is Christ coming back and when He does, He will come like lightning!

  • October 2, 2022 - Service & Sermon - Matthew 24:1-14 “Signs of the Last Days” - In the bible passages read today Jesus reminds us that this world is temporary and only God’s church will stand forever.  As Pastor Anthony reads through these verses, he helps us to understand about the eight prophesies that Jesus foretold to His disciples about the end times and that we need to stay focused as a church and to be unified in God’s truth of repentance. 

  • September 25, 2022 - Service & Sermon - Psalms 139: 23-24  “Life is Hard” - ​Dwayne Phillips asks us today if we've ever done anything bad or had bad things happen in our lives.  In these two passages, the psalmist writes: “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.  Point out anything in me that offends You, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.”   Are we going to give in to these bad experiences or move on and become a new person who belongs to Christ?
    Dwayne encourages us to become ambassadors for Jesus Christ and to live a free life with Him.

  • September 18, 2022 - Service & Sermon - Matthew 23: 37-39 “Love Rejected" - In the final days of Jesus’ life, He grieves over Jerusalem.  He tells us that God’s main concern for them is to correct their hearts and sinful nature of this world.  He points out that God desires to care for and look after His people because He loves them.  Pastor Anthony breaks down these passages for us so we can fully understand God’s love for us, His desire to protect us and His promise to return one day.

  • September 11, 2022 - Service & Sermon- Psalms 42: 1-11 “What Do You Want?” - Youth Pastor Will Hall delivers a powerful sermon today and starts with asking each of us a question, “What Do You Want?”  We know that God wants us to desire Him above all else.  In this psalm, the psalmist details the how, when and why we should all want this too.  Listen to Pastor Will to understand what was written so long ago and is still relevant to believers today.

  • September 4, 2022 - Service & Sermon - Ephesians 1: 15-18 “Paul’s Prayer for the Church”- The Apostle Paul wrote this letter to the church of Ephesus while he was in prison.  He prayed for Spiritual Wisdom for the church that they might know God, that they might know God’s calling for their lives and that they might know God’s riches.  Pastor Anthony takes us through multiple bible verses to illustrate that God is concerned about our future.

  • August 28, 2022 - Service & Sermon - Matthew 23: 13-36  “The Great Accusations of False Religion”​​ - Today’s message is a stern and tragic warning that involves the souls of people.  Jesus wants us to repent and humble ourselves and to follow Him.  Pastor Anthony identifies the nine accusations about false religion detailed in these passages.  Listen to learn what they are and how we need to recognize and avoid them.

  • August 21, 2022 Service & Sermon - Matthew 23: 1-12  “Three Signs of False Religion” - This is the last Tuesday of Jesus’ life.  Jesus speaks to the crowds and his disciples and addresses the spiritual failure of the Pharisees and teachers of religious law.  Jesus points out their hypocrisy and how they didn’t practice what they preached.  They also burdened people with too many rules and forced obedience to them.  Thirdly, the Pharisees suffered greatly from pride and felt they were more religious than others. 
    Listen to Pastor Anthony go into more detail on these verses, he reminds us that we are all brothers and sisters in Christ and that greatness is measured by our service, we are called to serve not to rule.

  • August 14, 2022 - Service & Sermon - Matthew 22: 41-46  “What Do You Think?” - ​This is the last week of Jesus’ life.  In these passages, Jesus turns the tide and asks the Pharisees this question: “What do you think about the Messiah?”. 
    Pastor Anthony teaches us that Jesus wanted to stir their hardened hearts and to help them realize that eternity boils down to what we believe about the Messiah, that we need to reveal our hearts to God. 
    Some questions we should reflect on are:
    What do I think about Jesus? 
    What has He done and where has He delivered me from? 
    What is my testimony?

  • August 7, 2022 - Service & Sermon - 2 Timothy 3:16 & 4:2 “Leading By Example” - All scripture is God breathed and inspired by God, scripture is a guidebook for us to do God's work on earth.  Follow along with guest speaker Corven Flynn as he shares examples from the bible on leading with God's word.

  • July 31, 2022 - Service & Sermon - Matthew 28: 18-20 “Youth Retreat Testimonies” - ​This biblical passage mandates that we invest in our youth because they are the future leaders of the church, by doing this investing we make new disciples.  Today’s message features testimonies from our youth about what they learned from the retreat they attended.

  • July 24, 2022 - Service & Sermon - Matthew 22: 34-40 “How to Obey the Law” - This is the last occurrence in the bible where the Pharisees tried trap Jesus by asking Him which commandment is the most important.  Jesus reply was to love God with all of your heart, soul and mind and secondly to love your neighbor as yourself.  Pastor Anthony guides us through these passages by revealing what God wants from us.

  • July 17, 2022 - Service & Sermon - Matthew 22: 23-33 “The What Ifs” - ​Once again Jesus is questioned about resurrection, this time by the Sadducees.  They were trying to trap Him into their nonbiblical version of the truth.  They scoffed at the idea of resurrection because it could not be explained by rational thoughts.  Pastor Anthony instructs us about the importance of knowing the scriptures and helps us understand that the resurrection will far exceed anything we have in life.

  • July 10, 2022 - Service & Sermon - Matthew 22: 15-22  “Dual Citizenship” - ​Jesus said Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and give to God what belongs to God”.  These passages illustrate to us two false ideas of citizenship: first that religion (not faith) is supreme above everything else and secondly that government is supreme.  Pastor Anthony outlines the sins of those who have a false sense of citizenship and then teaches us the truth about being a good citizen.

  • July 3, 2022 - Service & Sermon - Matthew 22: 1-4  “The Greatest Invitation Ever” - Today’s sermon from the book of Matthew is on “The Parable of the Great Feast” which represents us coming to the Kingdom of God.  In this lesson, God invites us to His kingdom and provides us with the proper clothing and righteousness so we can enter into paradise.  Pastor Anthony takes us step by step through this parable and helps us understand all that Jesus was teaching us about entering heaven.
